Surya Added to Inc. 500 | 5000 List For Fourth Year

Surya has been named for the fourth consecutive year to the Inc. 500|5000 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest growing privately-held companies. The home accessories provider is ranked 2,818 on the 2014 Inc. 500|5000 list, moving up from a ranking of 2,884 last year.

Focused on providing the widest selection of coordinating home accessories across a range of styles and price points, Surya has grown from $2.7 million in sales in 2004 to $82.3 million in 2013 while realizing consistent double-digit year over year revenue increases since 2004. Amidst a challenging economic climate, the company has continued to expand into additional home accents categories to help simplify the shopping experience for its designer and retailer customers. Surya currently offers more than 30,000 products across categories that include rugs, pillows, throws, wall decor, lighting, accent furniture, bedding and decorative accents, with 75 percent of large furniture retailers currently selling Surya products to their customer base.

“We are always looking for ways to better serve our customers while at the same time pushing the envelope to drive innovation within the industry,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “Being named to this prestigious list for the fourth year in a row is a testament to our commitment to deliver exceptional products and merchandising solutions that help our customers to grow their home accessories business. We are honored to be in the company of so many similarly-minded organizations and look forward to what the future will bring as we execute on our goal to become a $1 billion company within the next ten years.”

Earlier this month, Surya broke ground on a new $33 million corporate office and distribution facility located in Cartersville, Ga., which will measure one million sq. ft. when completed in late 2015. The expansion will not only enable the company to consolidate shipping and distribution for more efficient logistics and operations but will also accommodate the addition of more than 200 jobs within the next few years.

Inc. Magazine publishes the Inc. 500|5000 list each year to celebrate the most dynamic private companies in the United States. Surya will be recognized at the 33rd Annual Inc. 500|5000 Awards Ceremony to be held on Friday, Oct. 17 in Phoenix, Ariz.

AHFA Supplier Members to Be Named 'Solution Partners'

Supplier members of the American Home Furnishings Alliance will now be known as "Solution Partners." The new name is part of a rebranding and revitalization of the group, which has been an integral component of AHFA for 50 years.

AHFA's Suppliers Division was organized in 1964 to incorporate suppliers of products and services into the mission of the association. Over the years, the diverse membership of this division has played an essential role in providing needed information and expertise to the manufacturer members of the AHFA.
Original division members were manufacturers of equipment and machinery; suppliers of component parts, materials and supplies; packaging, transportation and warehousing products, services and support; and domestic and international logistics companies. These members continue to be an integral part of the division.

In recent years, membership has expanded as the industry has changed. Now the membership base also includes financial institutions, technology companies, marketing and public relations agencies, insurance brokers and underwriters, law firms, social and digital media advisors, internet sales support, and waste disposal and environmental services.

In 2000, the division began a Scholarship Golf Tournament, which now funds six annual scholarships of $2,000 each awarded to the children of regular, full-time employees of AHFA member companies. The one-year scholarships are presented based on financial need and academic merit of the student. The program is open to both manufacturer and supplier members of the Alliance, and it has presented 46 scholarships since its inception in 2000.

"Supplier members have long been 'partners' to the AHFA membership in addressing industry challenges and working toward creative and effective solutions," explains Solution Partners chairman Jack Hicks of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge and Rice, Greensboro, N.C. "Our new name, Solution Partners, captures the essence of our active role in the Alliance and is a fitting description of our strategic direction for the future."?

The mission of the Solution Partners is to improve the effectiveness of companies serving the home furnishings industry by:

•    addressing industry issues and trends;
•    increasing understanding and communication between solution providers and manufacturers;
•    sponsoring programs that provide knowledge, solutions and tools to build and strengthen the home furnishings industry; and,
•    promoting individual professional development of its members.

Innovant Completes 25 Years of Business

Innovant proudly celebrates its 25-year milestone as one of the fastest growing office furniture manufacturers over the last five years. This growth is attributable to the success and expansion of Innovant’s open plan workstation product, FORm_office.

After opening an office in London in 2008, Innovant recognized that the open plan office strategy would soon take root in the US. This led the company to launch FORm_office, which quickly became the top selling benching product in New York City, particularly for prestigious clients with complex technology requirements. Since its inception, FORm_office has been selected over competing products from major manufacturers because of its superior engineering, pleasing aesthetic, and Innovant’s proven history, intelligently integrating technology and cabling within its furniture.
In 2012, Innovant launched FORm_office Adjustable Height as an extension to the series and was immediately awarded Gold for Best in Benching at the prestigious NeoCon furniture tradeshow. Since then, Innovant has rapidly expanded its product offerings with the introduction of FORm_office Standing Height and the launch of both a private office line and a conference collection; this includes the FORm_AV video conferencing product on display at NeoCon 2014.

Innovant continues to win major benching projects for its high quality products and unparalleled tailoring capability. The company has also set itself apart by offering clients “The Innovant Experience,” a uniquely collaborative design and development process.
