VILLA TUGENDHAT TO OPEN AGAIN ON MARCH 6, 2012

 

Villa Tugendhat, the "Modernist masterpiece" by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the Czech Republic, will reopen to the public on March 6, 2012 after a two-year restoration.
 
Villa Tugendhat in Brno, Czech Republic opens to the public March 6, 2012 and is located at Černopolní 237/45 613 00 Brno-Černá Pole, Česká republika. Brno has an international airport and is also accessible by train, bus or car from Prague, about 200 miles away.
 
In 2001, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared the Tugendhat a world heritage site. To date, nearly 80 percent of the Villa's original features have been preserved, making it "the most authentic Mies van der Rohe building on the continent.
