LELAND INTERNATIONAL GRABS BEST OF NEOCON GOLD AND INNOVATION AWARDS

Leland International received two 2012 Best of NeoCon Awards today. The Quarry Bench was awarded the Seating: Benches Gold Award and The Fast Table received an Innovation Award. “Every year we work extremely hard to introduce products worthy of this competition,” said Shanna Anderson, vice president of sales for Leland International. “To see our hard work pay off and be recognized with not one but two awards this year, we’re absolutely thrilled and so proud of our designers and product-development team. Receiving these awards is truly an honor for all of us at Leland.”

Quarry

Quarry, awarded the Seating: Benches Gold Award, was inspired by designer Bruce Sienkowski’s desire to create a collaborative workspace that was also light and flexible. Sienkowski wanted to take a form from nature and simplify it, and a rock quarry fit his vision perfectly. The symmetrical shapes work well for seating, and by configuring the pieces, one can create spaces with very organic, natural feels. A distinct and intentional stitch line mimicking a rock fissure helps to further define the shape.

Fast

The Fast Table, winner of an Innovation Award, is a universal table with a cross-shaped foldable structure designed by Carlos Tíscar. A number of top shapes complement just two base sizes, which lets people generate many table configurations with low inventory. The pivoting, x-shaped base with flag indicators makes it easy to select the right base position, depending on the top size. The base-to-table connectors are intuitively designed to clearly indicate the correct attachment alignment. These features make it simple for everyday users to quickly and clearly reconfigure the product.
